One year. Nine events. Nine chances to . . . fall in love?
Weddings. Funerals. Barbecues. New Year’s Eve parties. Name the occasion, and Sophie Evans will be there. Well, she has to be there. Sophie works for the local florist, so she can be found at every big event in her small hometown, arranging bouquets and managing family dramas.
Enter Andrew Hart. The son of the fancy new chef in town, Andrew is suddenly required to attend all the same events as Sophie. Entitled, arrogant, preppy Andrew. Sophie just wants to get her job done and finish up her sketches so she can apply to design school. But every time she turns around, there is Andrew, getting in her way and making her life more complicated. Until one day she wonders if maybe complicated isn’t so bad after all . . .
Told over the course of one year and following Sophie from event to event, this delightful novel from master of romantic comedy Kasie West shows how love can blossom in unexpected places.
Review
I’m a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers story, and this book was exactly that. Kasie West is a master at creating the best romance possible—and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t always prefer romance. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a good romance subplot, but not always when it’s the main plot. Kind of like West’s books are. But I purposely reach for her books whenever I need a comfort read! They are truly remarkable and an inspiration to me as a writer.
Something that really stood out to me with this book, was the adorable meet cute. The meet cute is one of my favorite parts in a romance book, but only if it’s done right. I case studied this incredible meet cute in a blog post earlier this week. In case you missed it, here’s the link!
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that will make you laugh, melt, and simply relish the beautiful friendships. This story has it all! I will never get over recommending it. So go read it so I can stop fangirling!
“Are we being crazy? Is this impractical?”
― Kasie West, Maybe This Time
“Who cares? Now is the time to fail spectacularly. We have our whole lives ahead of us to try again and again.”

Your turn!
Do you enjoy fun, light and fluffy romance reads? What’s a comfort read for you? What’s your favorite meet cute?
Blessings, Allyson
Ooh, this looks good! I’m a little skeptical because it sounds like a movie I’ve watched before, but romance books are normally better than the movies. You get to spend more time with the characters. 😉
I’m adding this to my To-Read list!

They normally are. I enjoy them, but I have to find the right ones.
Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name. I can’t find it on the Internet either. The man, who was a chef, wasn’t on good terms with the woman though. I can’t remember what her occupation was. 😅
