PRIDE AND PREJUDICE has delighted generations of readers with its ingenious plot, brilliant dialogue, inventive assortment of unique characters, and wealth of humor. The central theme is the romantic clash of two opinionated young people. In one corner, there is Elizabeth Bennet, our highly vivacious heroine, in the other, the arrogant but captivating Mr. Darcy. Their destinies interweave in a timeless pattern of courtship, love, property, and marriage.

Review
For the longest time, I could not get into any Jane Austen book that I would try to read. Some that I did try, literally put me to sleep. But after watching the movie (yes, I’m one of them), I was in love.

Then I read the book and fell in love with the story all over again. I love both the movie and the book now and will recommend them both to anyone who will listen. If you’re reading this review, you should definitely read this book! But if you’ve tried and are having a hard time getting into the story, switch to the movie first. It’s beautiful.

β€œIt is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

Your turn!

Have you read Pride and Prejudice or any other book by Jane Austen? Did you have a hard time getting into the story at first? Have you ever seen the movie?

    1. Oops… Totally thought I said, lol. XD The 2005 film with Kierra Knightly is my personal favorite! Though it’s also the only one that I’ve seen. Which one do you like?

      1. Oooh yay!!! Someone who actually likes 2005! πŸ˜‚
I’m that rare person that loves both just about equally πŸ˜‰ I grew up on the 2005 version though, the 1995 one is a newer find for me!
The 95 is definitely VERY accurate though, you totally need to watch it πŸ˜‰

  1. Ahhh!!! I’m rereading this for school right now!! It can be a bit hard to get into, lol! But this time around, I’m also listening to this AMAZING audio of it on Scribd, which is really bringing it to life. The lady does all the different characters’ voices so well XD And I have seen both movies and love them pretty much equally, like Lydia! πŸ˜€ Sometimes I’m in the mood for the BBC, and other times for the 2005. They’re both awesome. πŸ˜‰
